Opportunity Christian Church offers a prayer Chain. You may add names to the prayer list by calling the office at 926-3691, by talking with Pastor Lauri, or by filling out a prayer request card in the pews. Specific Prayers For The Church Lord, help us to be a grace filled body of Christ, united by the Holy Spirit, led by you, accompanied by Christ, so we can share the gifts in service and love for your glory. Help us to be committed to living the gospel, through the power of your healing and forgiveness. Help us to know the joy of community as we serve together in harmony, teaching, encouraging and offering hope, selflessly loving others just as Christ loves us. Lord, help us be a church where we are called to be your instrument, empowered by your Spirit. Help us to be Disciples as we become authentically united, passionate and effective leaders amidst our community by playing out the music of love composed by you, orchestrated by your Son and conducted by your Spirit. Amen. For the sick: O God, Strength to the weak and Comfort to the sufferers, mercifully accept our prayers. Through your unfailing power and unceasing presence, may your servants find their sickness turned to health and their sorrows turned to joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. For those we love: Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Before surgery or testing: O Lord, You know the needs that have brought me here and the techniques that will help me. Guide those who serve You here; in their skillful ministry let me experience Your saving help. Give me calm faith in You, and strength to live in Your hope; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen. After surgery or testing: With heartfelt thanks, O Lord, I now begin to walk anew the road that You have set before me. Stay with me each step of the way, I pray; for I journey on, as I have all my life , in Your good name. Amen. Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. Prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16 |
